1st Modewarre Scout Group comprises of Joey, Cub, Scout and Venturer sections. Each section has exciting and adventurous activities for the kids to enjoy.
The 1st Modewarre Joey Section is for girls and boys aged between 5 and 8 years ( 5 year olds must be at school). Meetings usually consist of games, craft, stories and learning things by doing them, and nights are often based on a theme. The aim of Joeys is to have fun introduction to scouting while building confidence in the hope that when old enough, our joeys will continue their scouting journey by moving up to cubs.
The 1st Modewarre Cub Section is for girls and boys aged between 8 and 11 years. Cubs focuses on the kids working in small groups (Sixes) and developing leadership skills, teamwork, confidence and abilities through involvement in many different activities. Cub Scouts use the Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling. During each year, we have a variety of activities and hikes away from the hall, with a camp planned for each term. Weekly meetings are both at the Scout hall and at different venues. Every 3 years, our Cubs have the chance to attend the Victorian Cuborree, which is a special, week long adventure packed full of activities at Gilwell Park in Gembrook.

Scouts is based on working in small groups (Patrols) and developing leadership skills, teamwork, confidence and abilities through involvement in many different activities. During each year, there are a variety of camps, hikes and activities away from the hall, as well as weekly meetings both at the Scout hall and at different venues. Every 3 years, our Scouts have the chance to attend the Australian Jamboree. Bayjam, the Victorian Jamboree, is held in each of the 2 years in between. Opportunities also exist to attend International Jamborees.
1st Modewarre Venturer Scout Unit consists of 14-17 yr old young people guided by qualified adult Venturer Leaders. Venturers run and take responsibility for their own Unit. They are the Managers… planning, setting goals, controlling their own funds, looking after The Den and exploring new possibilities to have fun…all of which helps build leadership, teamwork skills and taking on real responsibility to prepare for adult life.
