I’ve been a Scout Leader since 1991 when my second son joined Cubs and they needed a Leader. I’ve been involved in almost every level of Scouting but am now a Scout Leader. I love the outdoor activities - construction, mapping, hiking, canoeing, biking and camping. Scouting has enabled me to not only be involved in young people’s growth and development but to also take part in some amazing adventures – Jamborees, Cuborees, hiking Tassie’s 3 Capes and Overland Tracks, Wilson’s Prom, the Great Ocean Walk, canoe hike on the Goulburn River. |

Assistant Group Leader - Jess Loone

Jess has been a part of Scouting since 2008, where she joined 1st Modewarre Scout Group as a Cub Scout herself! After moving through the sections as a youth member, where she achieved her peak award in Cubs, Scouts and Venturers, Jess has held roles in both the Cub and Venturer sections at the local, region and state levels. Jess loves camping, hiking and canoeing, with her biggest hiking trip being 8 days on the Overland Track in Tasmania. Alongside, her role as assistant group leader, you'll see Jess volunteering at Eumeralla Scout Camp as part of the ranger team managing the campsite. |

Assistant Cub Scout Leader - Lucas Benney

Lucas started his Scouting journey as a ranger at Eumeralla Scout Camp! Alongside his work at cubs, Lucas is a part of the ranger team at Eumeralla Scout Camp, managing the maintenance of the campsites, so that we can enjoy the nature and outdoors on our camping adventures! Lucas has also had experience in management roles in the workplace which helps him in his role at Cubs! Lucas enjoys being outdoors, helping and teaching others which makes him a great fit for our group. |

Assistant Cub Scout Leader - Amy Batson

I have been a part of the scouting movement for 13 years and worked hard to achieve my Grey Wolf Award in the Cub Scout section, Australian Scout Award in the Scout section and Queens Scout Award in the Venturer section. I am a current Rover alongside being an Assistant Cub Scout Leader at 1st Modewarre. I am passionate about making children smile and happy, working in childcare I have years of experience with all ages of youth. I can’t wait to meet your child and help them grow and develop into an amazing person.! |

Assistant Cub Scout Leader - Will Bird

Will joined 1st Modewarre Scout Group in 2015 as a Cub Scout! Across his time in Cubs and Scouts Will has achieved both his Grey Wolf Award and Australian Scout Award. Will has also been lucky enough to attend Cuboree 2017, Australian Jamboree 2019 and Victorian Jamboree 2022. Will now aupports Marie, Lucas and Amy run the Cub Scout Section. Will brings his enthusiasm for all things outdoors, bringing a sense of adventure to the Cubs! |

Scout Leader - Tim Giles

Tim joined us from 1st Belmont in 2022 and has been a part of Scouting since 2017! Alongside his role as a Scout Leader, Tim also has training in Archery and, Bushwalking and Flat Water Paddling, enabling the Scouts to have lots of new adventures in these adventurous areas. The most recent paddling trip for Tim was a night paddle on the Yarra River |

Venturer Section
Our Venturers are currently hosted by 1st Torquay Venturer Unit who run on Thursdays from 7-9pm and Nindethana Collective Venturer Unit who run out of Highton Scout Hall on Tuesdays from 7-9pm.
