A Venturer Scout Unit consists of 14-17 yr old young people guided by qualified adult Venturer Leaders.
Venturers run and take responsibility for their own Unit. They are the Managers… planning, setting goals, controlling their own funds, looking after The Den and exploring new possibilities to have fun…all of which helps build leadership, teamwork skills and taking on real responsibility to prepare for adult life.
We are actively participate in many opportunities, including: - outdoor activities eg. abseiling, rock climbing, caving, hiking, skiing, canoeing, ice skating - getting involved in community activities at home and overseas - learning new skills and developing expertise in new areas - going new places, facing new challenges or maybe just chilling with friends
While you are dealing with the toughest years at school and making decisions for the future, Venturers can be a real break from everything focusing on friendships, personal growth and picking up valuable life skills. It’s about healthy risk taking, when many others may be making unhealthy choices. Venturer Scouts are able to pursue the Venturer Award Scheme and also the Queen Scout Award, a valuable asset for the future.
